Emil Eve Architects

Emil Eve Architects was founded by Emma and Ross Perkin in 2010 and is based in Hackney, North London. Our projects include housing, retail spaces, galleries, workspaces and public realm projects. Emil Eve Architects specialise in working with historic and listed buildings and enjoy the challenge of introducing contemporary interventions into complex contexts.

Ross is an Architect with extensive experience in environmental design and conservation.  As a SPAB scholar, Ross spent 2013 travelling around the UK learning about the use of traditional building materials and the repair and re-use of historic buildings. Ross studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh where he graduated with distinction in 2008. With David Mikhail Architects, Ross was project architect for the East London House which received a RIBA Award in 2014 and was winner of the Wood Awards 2012.

Ross has extensive experience of collaborative practice and has completed work on a visitor centre at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park with Clare Lilley and Feilden Fowles Architects. Before this he worked on a number of projects with former curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale and RIBA Gold Medal winner David Chipperfield, including spending a year working on refurbishment of The Royal Academy. Ross became an ARB registered architect in 2010 (Reg.076538D) and is also a RIBA chartered architect (Reg. 12719610), registered conservation architect (CR level) and 2013 SPAB Lethaby Scholar.

Emma combines practice with teaching and is a design tutor at the University of Westminster where she has recently gained recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority. She studied at the University of Edinburgh where her Masters thesis won the Landscape Research Group Student Award and was highly commended in the RIAS Silver Medal Awards.

She has worked for several award winning practices in London and Paris including Sanei Hopkins, Levitate and Dorrel Ghotmeh Tane, where she led the Interiors Team on the recently completed, and award winning, National Museum of Estonia. Emma was a founding member of the charity Voluntary Design and Build with whom she won the AJ small projects award in 2009 for the Tarlungeni nursery in Romania. Emma became an ARB registered architect in 2012 (Reg.079603D)
