The couple loved the retro feel of industrial stripped back bistro style and dreamt of having the dual living of family life with their newborn baby whilst still maintaining their social life in an understated modern rustic environment.
The main rooms had been cold, dark and pokey so working with Nina Cooley, formally as Cooley & Rose, we set about remodelling by extending into the garden & to the side return, opening up the main living/kitchen/dining area into a large bright airy space. We created zoned spaces for their particular requirements, for example, using floor tiles to frame the wood, brass and concrete island. The materials we used we chose for their organic raw natural state wherever possible. Using weathered wood, concrete and raw plastered walls. This gave a warm inviting hue to the rooms creating ambiance, style and a touch of eclectic quirk!
